Internship overview
The internship is with the AWS Field Engineering team, supporting technical infrastructure across data center operations.
The intern works with experienced Field Engineers on operational challenges, data center optimization, and facility operations.
The role provides exposure to internal systems, operational processes, and electrical, mechanical, and environmental technical domains.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoots site and equipment failures, performs root cause analysis, and prepares corrective action documentation.
- Supports operational issues through ad hoc training, complex procedure reviews, and event support.
- Develops conceptual designs for data center upgrades that add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
- Works with design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams to maintain service standards and reliability.
- Contributes to concurrent projects and supports new construction through design, build, commissioning, and handover.
Basic qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a BE/BSc program in Electrical, Mechanical, Design Engineering, Building Services, or a similar technical discipline, graduating in 2027.
- Requires fluent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
Preferred qualifications
- Problem-solving methodologies and analytical approaches to technical challenges are preferred.
- Attention to detail and experience with data-driven processes are preferred.
- Collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and teams are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication and high standards for documentation and reporting are preferred.
About the team
The Field Engineering team provides electrical and mechanical expertise throughout data center design, operations, optimization, and maintenance.
The team collaborates with design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, and partner teams to support reliable data center services.
