Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, including data models, DAX measures and Power Query transformations.
• Develop the data warehouse, data platform and pipelines, including ingestion, ETL/ELT, dimensional modeling, SQL, incremental refresh and integrations with Banner and Oracle Fusion.
• Implement LLM-powered and agentic solutions using enterprise AI platforms, context engineering, tool or function calling, orchestration and memory.
• Build RAG systems over institutional data using embeddings, vector search and grounded responses.
• Build workflow automation and system integrations, including chatbots, REST APIs and process automation.
• Implement responsible-AI guardrails and evaluation; deploy, monitor and optimize production AI solutions for accuracy, reliability and cost.
• Recommend and deploy SaaS and AI solutions, assess vendors and platforms, define requirements and support procurement.
• Maintain data definitions, ownership, audit trails, row-level security, PII handling and least-privilege access.
• Use the software development lifecycle, Git and deployment pipelines to take solutions through requirements, development, testing and production.
• Create technical and executive documentation, train and support users, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams.

Required qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and AI or automation solution development; enterprise or higher education experience is ideal.
• Manage workload and competing projects with minimal direction, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication with technical and non-technical users.
• Power BI, DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling and gateway management.
• SQL, relational databases, data warehousing and dimensional modeling; Oracle is preferred.
• LLM and agentic solutions, context engineering, tool or function calling, RAG, embeddings and vector search.
• Responsible-AI guardrails, output validation, evaluation and production monitoring.
• Microsoft Azure services and data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric.
• REST APIs, authentication, webhook patterns, workflow automation, data cataloging, ownership and PII handling.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline is preferred.
• ITIL, PMP, Scrum or other project management certifications are preferred.
• Certifications in cloud, data engineering or AI-related technologies are preferred.
