About the Role
Lead and oversee cybersecurity and data governance activities across the company by establishing effective cybersecurity frameworks, controls, monitoring mechanisms, and data governance practices to protect digital assets, support organizational resilience, mitigate cyber risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity and data governance activities.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor, identify, assess, and coordinate response efforts relating to cybersecurity threats, incidents, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Develop and maintain cyber incident response, escalation, business continuity, and recovery coordination protocols.
- Establish and oversee data governance frameworks covering data quality, access controls, classification, retention, lifecycle management, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with IT and relevant departments to embed cybersecurity and data governance requirements into systems, operations, projects, and technology initiatives.
- Coordinate cybersecurity reviews, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and control assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and identify gaps.
- Support alignment with applicable cybersecurity laws, regulations, directives, and recognized standards/frameworks (e.g., ISO standards, NIS2, and related requirements).
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and responsible data management practices through awareness initiatives, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate with Risk Management and Finance functions regarding cyber risk assessments and cyber insurance coverage considerations.
- Prepare cybersecurity and data governance reports, dashboards, and updates for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development of cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance mechanisms across the organization.
- Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, regulators, and service providers on cybersecurity and data governance matters when required.
- Contribute to the preparation and management of the departmental budget and resource requirements.
- Maintain relevant cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance documentation, registers, and records.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Data Management, or a closely related field.
A Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of
6 to 10 years
of progressive experience in relevant line of work.
