The Counter Salesman serves as a public-facing contact for customer questions about company products and services.
The role combines counter sales and customer service with order documentation, product and inventory knowledge, and warehouse tasks.
Sales and customer service
- Assist customers, answer questions, identify needs, provide product information, record orders, and resolve queries courteously.
- Follow up on orders, support customer satisfaction, provide quotations, and communicate relevant procedures and policies.
- Keep product details, product functionality, and inventory knowledge current.
- Create strategies to meet sales targets and develop branch business and sales.
Order and warehouse duties
- Record customer details, orders, pricing, quotations, and vouchers; retrieve records and check information for completeness and accuracy.
- Inspect incoming product quality and verify materials against the original order.
- Stack and organize products in assigned warehouse locations and follow safety rules.
- Report potential hazards, inspect delivery vehicles when required, and count and inspect returned materials.
- Arrange correct unloading and check material stacking positions and compliance with instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow company standards, policies, and codes of conduct.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or high school diploma.
- Retail sales experience.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude, with a focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Work arrangement
- Work location is in person.
