Cost Control & Analysis Manager

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Validate customer and supplier rates against approved contracts and flag deviations and margin risks.
• Own job-cost completeness by shipment, job, and material, including accruals and cost allocation.
• Coordinate customer billing and supplier invoice capture; resolve workflow exceptions.
• Perform job-level ERP/TMS reconciliations and support month-end close.
• Build budgets, forecasts, and scenarios; explain rate, volume, mix, productivity, and operational variances.
• Analyze CM1, GP, and OP performance by customer, lane, shipment, product, and vendor.
• Produce dashboards, trend and root-cause analysis, management insights, and recommended actions.
• Lead profitability reviews, corrective actions, savings initiatives, and benefit tracking.
• Manage billing and cost disputes; escalate items beyond delegated authority.
• Monitor unbilled revenue, open workflows, and SO/PO gaps through closure.
• Design and test controls, maintain evidence, and support audit, compliance, and data-quality reviews.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and more than five years of experience.
• Requires relevant cost control, FP&A, or management-accounting experience in logistics or transport.
• CMA, ACCA, CIMA, or an analytics qualification is preferred.
• Requires strong transportation-cost, profitability, and P&L acumen; advanced Excel; and ERP/TMS and Power BI capability.
• SQL, data modeling, and analytics capability are preferred.
• Requires forecasting, scenario modeling, management reporting, controls, data-quality, compliance, and audit discipline.
• Analytical storytelling, stakeholder influence, and team leadership are sought.
