The company seeks a detail-oriented, commercially focused Cost Accountant to manage production costs, monitor inventory, analyse profitability, and strengthen financial controls.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor raw material, production, packaging, labour, and overhead costs.
- Prepare product-wise costing, cost sheets, and profitability analysis.
- Track actual versus standard costs, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Monitor inventory valuation, stock movements, wastage, and reconciliation.
- Analyse product margins, pricing, and production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate financial transaction records, reconciliations, and monthly closing.
- Monitor customer credit limits and receivables, ensuring compliance with approved credit policies.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Sales to strengthen cost controls.
- Prepare MIS reports, cost analysis, and financial insights for management decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CMA/ACCA is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, with strong cost accounting exposure in Food Manufacturing/FMCG.
- Understand BOM, standard costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Preferred candidate profile
- A hands-on accountant with manufacturing costing experience, commercial awareness, and ability to manage cost controls and provide financial insights independently.
