Cook - Sails

Located overlooking Catseye Beach, Sails Restaurant is one of Hamilton Island's popular casual dining venues, offering a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful Whitsunday views. With a busy kitchen catering to guests throughout the day, Sails is a fast-paced environment where quality, consistency and teamwork are essential.

We're looking for an experienced Cook to join our Sails kitchen team. If you're confident working in a busy commercial kitchen, enjoy hands-on cooking and can maintain quality while managing high volumes of orders, this is a great opportunity to put your skills to work in one of Hamilton Island's well-known dining venues.

You'll be hands-on across food preparation and service, supporting the kitchen team to deliver consistent, quality meals throughout busy service periods. You'll manage your mise en place, follow recipes and portion specifications, and work efficiently to keep orders moving while maintaining presentation and food safety standards.

Working alongside the wider kitchen team, you'll need to stay organised, communicate well and be comfortable adapting to the demands of a busy restaurant environment.

Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial restaurant kitchen

Experience in busy, high-volume restaurant or casual dining environments

Strong food preparation and general cooking skills

Confidence managing multiple orders during busy service periods

Ability to follow recipes, portion specifications and presentation standards

Good organisation, food safety awareness and a positive team-focused attitude

Flexibility to work a rotating roster based on operational requirements
