Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, storing, washing, peeling, measuring, weighing, and mixing.
- Prepare and cook food, including cold foods, according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and checklists.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test food for doneness and monitor quality.
- Maintain appropriate food and equipment temperatures.
- Set up and clean work areas; portion and plate food in appropriate containers.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor.
Qualifications and work expectations
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least one year of related experience are listed as desirable qualifications.
- No supervisory experience is required; no license or certification is listed as a qualification.
- Follow company safety and security policies and complete safety training and certification.
- Maintain professional grooming and uniform standards; protect confidential information and company assets.
- Communicate professionally, maintain positive work relationships, support team goals, and uphold quality standards.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, pull, and crouch; and move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
