Role overview

A leading organization in Qatar seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the full contractual lifecycle of major capital projects, construction, infrastructure, and engineering consultancy contracts.

The role covers both pre-award procurement and post-award contract administration in complex project environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead preparation, review, and negotiation of tender and contract documentation for major capital and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage contractual activities from tendering and award through execution, close-out, and final settlement.
  • Advise project teams on variations, claims, extensions of time, disputes, and commercial risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, procurement policies, governance requirements, and approval frameworks.
  • Review payment applications, contractor performance, contractual correspondence, and project-related commercial matters.
  • Engage with consultants, contractors, legal advisors, and project delivery teams to safeguard contractual interests.

Ideal candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, law, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in contracts management, procurement, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience with both pre-award and post-award contract processes and large-scale construction or capital project contracts.
  • Solid knowledge of FIDIC contracts; experience with SANAD forms is highly desirable.
  • Experience handling claims, variations, extensions of time, dispute resolution, and contract negotiations.
  • Government, semi-government, or regulated project experience is advantageous.
  • FCCM, MRICS, MCIArb, CCM, or similar professional certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Opportunity

  • The role offers involvement in high-profile capital and infrastructure projects alongside project, procurement, and legal professionals.
