Construction Manager

Role purpose

Strategy and risk

• Forecast labor needs, plan staffing, structure construction teams, and align expertise with project requirements.
• Improve workforce productivity through performance monitoring, training, and improvement initiatives.
• Set long-term project goals and identify financial, safety, and scheduling risks and mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations and incorporate sustainable practices where applicable.
• Work with senior leadership to adjust project strategy, budgets, and resources as requirements change.

Project and site operations

• Lead daily project execution and develop and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors to support timely project delivery.
• Monitor quality and compliance with design specifications, building codes, and client expectations.
• Maintain client communication, report progress, and address concerns.
• Supervise on-site construction activities, coordinate teams, streamline workflows, and enforce safety protocols.
• Resolve labor, material, and operational challenges and track costs, expenses, and forecasts.

Team management

• Monitor team productivity, identify inefficiencies, and provide actionable feedback.
• Develop training and skill-building programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Align personnel with project objectives, safety requirements, and client expectations.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of construction management experience focused on project management and operations.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Project management, leadership, team management, problem-solving, decision-making, cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management skills.
