Primary roles and responsibilities
- Build detailed cost models, work breakdown structures, and budgets for multi-phase or hyperscale data center construction.
- Produce Estimate at Completion reports, cash-flow projections, and monthly budget-versus-actual variance dashboards.
- Evaluate contractor pay applications, review change orders, support commercial negotiations, and conduct value engineering for MEP infrastructure.
- Ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness, and support data integration across enterprise tools such as SQL, Power BI, or internal controls platforms.
- Manage financial performance, capital expenditures, estimates, and forecasts for multi-million-dollar data center and hyperscale infrastructure projects.
Typical qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, or Engineering.
- Five to seven or more years of experience in construction cost management, project controls, or financial planning.
- Direct exposure to data center, industrial, or mission-critical developments is preferred.
- Proficiency in cost-control software, earned value management, financial modeling, and data analytics such as SQL or Excel.
- RICS certifications are frequently preferred; construction or data center finance experience is preferred.
