Join NEXT's Computer Services team at its Head Office in Leicestershire.
Support 24/7 availability and performance of core infrastructure serving websites, retail stores, warehouses, and third-party integrations.
Work in a monitoring team of 13 with support, training, and scope to resolve issues and improve systems.
Shift schedule
- Work a 4-on, 4-off rota of 12-hour shifts, mainly days with some night-shift requirements, for 38.5 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor core systems and infrastructure across Microsoft Azure cloud and on-premises environments.
- Run daily operational tasks, batch jobs, and system maintenance according to procedures.
- Perform server administration, App Pool resets, patching, and troubleshooting across Windows Server, Mainframe, VMware, Akamai, and Citrix NetScaler.
- Manage and resolve incidents with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, following ITIL practices.
- Make decisions during critical events, including P1 incident assessment and callouts.
- Collaborate on technology rollouts and deployments and support outages, critical rollouts, and business continuity.
What you'll bring
- Technical exposure to IT service operations, server administration, and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Zabbix, or Grafana.
- Practical understanding of PowerShell and foundational Windows Server knowledge in Azure or on-premises environments.
- Clear, confident spoken and written English communication.
- Sound decision-making, organization, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple incidents under pressure.
- Proactive, results-driven approach, interest in learning technologies, teamwork, and flexibility for shifts and rollouts.
