Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis with experience in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi and ramen preparation.
The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain high-quality standards, and support the kitchen team in delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of sushi, sashimi, ramen, and other Japanese dishes.
- Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, seafood, meats, sauces, and garnishes according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef or Sous Chef.
- Support the kitchen team during service to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and quality standards.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO procedures.
- Comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and kitchen procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Commis in a Japanese restaurant.
- Hands-on experience in sushi and ramen preparation is required.
- Knowledge of Japanese ingredients, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.

Preferred Candidate
- Experience in high-volume Japanese restaurants.
