Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and producing pastries, desserts, cakes, bread, chocolates, and other pastry items to recipes and standards.
- Support the Jr. Sous Chef and senior team with mise en place, baking, decoration, finishing, and daily kitchen operations.
- Maintain product quality, taste, texture, and presentation; follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
- Keep pastry workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized in line with HACCP and food-safety standards.
- Handle, store, and label ingredients correctly to preserve freshness and minimize waste.
- Assist with buffet setups, banquets, à la carte orders, and special events.
- Monitor stock and report shortages; care for equipment and report maintenance issues.
- Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and Novotel standards, and collaborate with the culinary team.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, hotel, resort, or high-volume bakery environment.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain quality standards.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and passion for pastry arts.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural team.
