Job Summary
An energetic and detail-oriented Commis Chef – Cold Section is required to support the kitchen team in preparing high-quality cold dishes and ensuring efficient daily operations.
The role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to a consistent dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble cold food items, including salads, sandwiches, cold appetizers, dressings, and garnishes.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cold kitchen area, equipment, and workstations.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reporting stock requirements.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks.
- Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to maintain smooth service operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary training is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of cold food preparation techniques.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
