Role overview

Responsibilities

• Wash and peel ingredients for dish production.
• Prepare mise en place to the standards set by superiors and set up or replenish buffets.
• Collect and organize requisitioned supplies; monitor ingredient stock and report low quantities.
• Store and label ingredients in designated containers to preserve them appropriately.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, utensils, and work areas before and after use.
• Report kitchen and stewarding-area cleanliness or maintenance issues and support daily checks.
• Maintain personal hygiene and follow hotel food safety standards and UAE municipality regulations.
• Support customer satisfaction according to hotel quality and service standards.
• Work with colleagues, assist other outlets and banquets when requested, and attend required meetings and training.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by superiors.

Requirements

• High school qualification or equivalent.
• Basic experience handling and preparing food, including specialty dishes such as pizza, is required.
• A degree or Higher National Diploma in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred.
• At least one year of culinary experience as a Commis 1 in a pastry and bakery kitchen is preferred.
• Ability to work long hours with a focus on operational excellence.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 15 kg without assistance.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils is expected.
• Knowledge of basic food hygiene is preferred.
