Position information

Food preparation and kitchen duties

• Prepare breads and pastries, including doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as appropriate.
• Review production sheets to understand the baked goods required each day.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Maintain kitchen logs for food-safety program compliance.
• Inform the Chef about excess food items for planning daily specials.
• Use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances safely and appropriately.
• Follow and ensure compliance with food-safety handling policies and personal hygiene procedures.
• Check kitchen appliance and food temperatures and report issues to management.
• Monitor prepared food quality and portions served throughout the shift.

Team, safety, and workplace duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
• Follow company safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance; maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
• Speak clearly and professionally, answer telephones appropriately, and build positive working relationships.
• Handle sensitive issues with tact, respect, and confidentiality; support team goals and serve as a department role model or mentor.
• Meet quality expectations and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
• Move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance; navigate uneven or slippery surfaces and perform physical tasks including extended standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Preferred qualifications

• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified as needed.
• No license or certification is specified.
