Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef with ideas and promotions and help motivate and develop staff.
- Maintain personal and work-area hygiene according to applicable guidelines; keep mise en place appropriate to business volume.
- Check food quality, quantity, and price before accepting store requisitions or inter-kitchen transfers.
- Ensure food transported for outside catering and banqueting is in appropriate containers; coordinate with Service and Stewarding.
- Maintain buffet presentations and displays to set standards; assist the Executive Chef with ideas for presentations, festivals, and menus and organize their implementation.
- Monitor wastage and spoilage to reduce costs; handle guest complaints promptly and inform the Executive Chef.
- Work shifts and adjust to business requirements; request maintenance for defective equipment and follow up on staff safety.
- Comply with operating, fire safety, infection control, and ethical business policies; participate in quality initiatives and perform other reasonable assigned duties.
Required experience
- At least two years of experience in a professional kitchen in the hotel industry.
- One to two years of hands-on French bread production experience, preferably in a bakery factory, hotel, or large-scale production unit.
Schedule
- The role works on a shift basis and adjusts to business requirements.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 5,000–6,000 per month.
Workplace
- Food production unit located at DIC, Dubai; work location is in person.
