Operate and maintain CNC machines, prepare materials, set up equipment, inspect quality, and support production while minimizing waste.
Responsibilities
- Prepare stock, fixtures, and machines; operate CNC equipment and perform quality checks and maintenance.
- Interpret drawings and confirm parts meet specifications.
- Complete scheduled cleaning and maintenance and sign off completed work.
- Set up and adjust equipment and perform minor preventive tasks under standard procedures.
- Monitor output quality and request support when necessary.
- Use hand tools and workshop machines safely and promote safety compliance.
- Track and report material usage to limit waste.
- Share shop-floor problems and improvement suggestions with engineers and supervisors.
- Identify and communicate health and safety risks.
- Take initiative on maintenance and help the team stay on task.
Basic qualifications
- High school qualification or diploma.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and mill-turn centers.
- Familiarity with prototyping or low-volume production workflows.
- Strong English command and written communication skills.
- Initiative to perform cleaning and support activities.
Preferred qualifications
- Troubleshooting, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of cutting tools, materials, speeds, and feeds.
- Ability to produce high-precision parts independently.
- Experience loading and fixturing materials for multi-axis machining.
- Ability to verify measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to meet quality standards, ISO procedures, and customer requirements.
