Design cloud infrastructure for a data and AI platform using Microsoft Fabric, Informatica IDMC on Azure, and Microsoft Foundry infrastructure.
Oversee the build and hand over to the Cloud and Ops Specialist; engagement covers design and build phases.
Key responsibilities
- Design Fabric and Informatica network connectivity on Azure and deliver a technical design to client IT.
- Translate requirements and workloads into infrastructure requirements, sizing, and configuration.
- Design DevOps repositories, access controls, and privileges.
- Advise on consumption optimization and controls, and recommend environment sizing for scale-up.
- Enable workspace configuration and troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity with client IT and the Cloud and Ops Specialist.
- Guide and oversee handover; the Cloud and Ops Specialist executes subscription setup, Fabric configuration, and Foundry administration.
- Include security, identity, encryption, and data residency requirements in designs aligned with client and government standards.
Required skills and experience
- 8+ years in cloud and infrastructure architecture, including at least 3 years on data platform workloads.
- Deep Azure expertise in networking, identity and access, Key Vault, landing zones, capacity, and cost management.
- Working knowledge of Fabric capacities, OneLake, lakehouse, warehouse, and mirroring, plus Informatica IDMC Secure Agent architecture.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps repository design.
- Able to present design decisions to client IT leadership and defend trade-offs.
Preferred qualifications
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent is preferred; Fabric or Informatica certification is a plus.
- Regulated or public sector experience involving sovereignty and data residency constraints is preferred.
- Arabic language skills are advantageous.
