2 Job Purpose

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organisation's perspective.

To provide medical and clinical professional assistance to the Superintendent Medical Affairs in the supervision and monitoring of the KJO contracted medical staff activities covering medical practices, referrals and MTC documentations to ensure that employees and dependents are provided with the highest quality of medical service.

3 Main Responsibilities

This section describes the principal outputs required from the job.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Day-to-day operations

Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Medical Affairs Division to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

Monitoring

Monitors the activities of third party medical practitioners to ensure that they perform according to the highest standards of the company and meets the expectations of the patients.

Medical Technical Committee (Mtc)

Provides technical documentation of various medical issues of identified patients to be discussed with the MTC in order to make the necessary plans, steps and decisions on how to address the particular case.

Referrals

Reviews and processes referral letters and discuss with the attending physician at the Medical Designated Facilities (MDF) to ensure that all required medical services indicated on the referral are provided to the employee and dependents.

Medical Coverage

Meets and discusses with the patient or patient’s family to discuss approval or non approval of medical service based on the coverage of the contract to ensure that concerned parties are properly informed of any issues in order to plan for the necessary steps to be taken.

Ancillary Jobs

  • Verifies medical referrals, invoice verifications, approval of sick leaves, preparation of medical reports and reimbursements of medical expenditures of employees and dependents to ensure that all procedures and processes are followed accordingly.
  • Reviews patient complaints and discuss remedial process with the Superintendent in order to resolve any disputes that would be beneficial for both the patient and the KJOH.
  • Visits MDF facilities to ensure that all equipments are properly maintain and functioning.

Stocks Inventory

Conducts regular inventory of consumable and disposable stock materials in order to ensure availability of necessary medical stocks and replenishment of used items.

Coordination

Coordinates with the FAD and budgeting sections to discuss alternative ways in order to improve the referral system that would enhance and expedite all approvals and provision of service.

Reporting

Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Health & Environment

Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the post.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Medicine, Supplementary Specialty plus Licensed Medical Specialist

Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar medical services post

Languages

Minimum English language required is KJO L6 – Advanced
