They will understand how discipline decisions affect adjoining infrastructure and buildings, set a clear review approach, and help engineers resolve difficult technical issues.

The candidate should combine sound engineering analysis with practical leadership, consistent decision records, and constructive engagement with other discipline leads.

Responsibilities

  • Set design criteria, standards, review procedures, and checking responsibilities across the discipline.
  • Plan review workloads and coordinate submission priorities with package managers and the programme planning team.
  • Review and approve consultant and contractor calculations, drawings, and reports, checking their engineering basis and completeness.
  • Assess foundation, structural, and infrastructure interfaces, including the relationship between geotechnical recommendations and design assumptions.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and lead multidisciplinary workshops on constructability, coordination, and risk.
  • Coordinate C&S interfaces with architecture, MEP, and security requirements and verify that decisions are reflected in design outputs.
  • Manage discipline comments, RFIs, and technical queries through recorded close-out and escalate material compliance concerns.
  • Assess design changes and technical alternatives with the relevant specialists, considering performance and programme implications.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, review performance, and promote consistent quality assurance across the team.
  • Report discipline progress, review constraints, outstanding approvals, and technical risks to programme leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 15+ years in civil and structural design, with discipline lead experience on major projects.
  • Experience on government facilities or hardened / protective structures.
  • Strong knowledge of SBC 300 series, ACI, BS EN codes; proficient in ETABS, SAFE or similar.
  • Eligible for SCE accreditation; must meet client security vetting requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability in design checking, technical assurance procedures, and coordination of geotechnical, structural, and infrastructure interfaces.
  • Ability to lead discipline workloads, review engineering judgements, and communicate significant technical risks.
  • Desirable: Blast-resistant design experience (UFC 3-340-02); chartered status.

We Offer

  • Opportunity to collaborate with a forward-thinking, synergistic, and innovative team.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge projects driving Middle East / North African regions development.
  • Personalized professional growth and developmental avenues tailored to your career aspirations.
