Role Overview

For the Riyadh office, ARX is looking for an Architect / Package Engineer – 100% (m/f).

The ideal candidate will have the architectural judgement to balance the intended use of complex buildings with coherent, practical design solutions.

They will understand how planning, detailing and specialist interfaces affect the quality of the final spaces.

The candidate should be confident challenging incomplete submissions, explaining design issues clearly and working collaboratively with engineering teams and contractors through successive stages of review.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design review and coordination for assigned building packages from concept through construction-issue design.
  • Assess layouts, space planning, circulation and security zoning against the client brief and operational needs.
  • Review design drawings, specifications and schedules for compliance, completeness, technical quality and buildability.
  • Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP, fire and life-safety and specialist systems, including access and maintenance provisions.
  • Review building details and coordinated schedules for doors, partitions, ceilings and finishes, identifying inconsistent or missing information.
  • Review material and product submittals, shop drawings, samples and mock-ups against the agreed design intent.
  • Participate in BIM coordination and verify that resolved architectural interfaces are reflected in the relevant documentation.
  • Raise and close design comments, RFIs and technical queries, consolidating responses with the appropriate discipline leads.
  • Support constructability and design change assessments and communicate the consequences for affected building packages.
  • Maintain review records and report architectural delivery status, unresolved interfaces and required stakeholder decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
  • 10+ years in architectural design or design review on large building complexes.
  • Experience on government or institutional facilities.
  • Proficient in Revit and BIM-based coordination.
  • Eligible for SCE accreditation; must meet client security vetting requirements.
  • Sound technical knowledge of building detailing, envelope interfaces, finishes, fire-rated assemblies and accessibility principles.
  • Capability in assessing coordinated drawings, schedules, specifications and material submissions for complex buildings.
  • Desirable: KSA or GCC project experience; knowledge of Saudi Building Code.
