Experienced Civil Engineer role supervising and managing civil construction activities during the night shift for a project.
The role calls for a strong background in substation construction, site execution, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and HSE compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage civil construction activities during the night shift.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, surveyors, QA/QC, and HSE teams for safe, timely execution.
- Monitor daily site progress against the approved schedule and productivity targets.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and permit requirements.
- Coordinate with the day-shift team to maintain work continuity and complete handovers.
- Prepare daily progress reports covering completed work, site issues, resource requirements, and constraints.
- Liaise with EDF/TAQA representatives, consultants, and project management teams as required.
- Ensure quality workmanship, resolve site execution issues, and meet quality and HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5–10 years of relevant civil construction experience; substation projects at 132kV, 220kV, or 400kV, or similar utility infrastructure projects, are preferred.
- Experience in civil works execution, subcontractor management, quality control, and HSE compliance.
- Familiarity with UAE utility projects and client or consultant coordination is preferred.
- TAQA Competency as a Civil Engineer.
- Must be willing to work night shifts.
- Strong site supervision, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
