Chief Engineer at Fraser Suites – Riyadh.
Ensures accommodation, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and building systems are maintained to a high standard with appropriate preventive detection systems and statutory compliance.
Maintenance and asset management
- Implement and manage planned preventive maintenance schedules for hotel plant, equipment, and operating assets.
- Maintain manuals, warranties, supplier details, product specifications, as-built drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic and essential services plans.
- Inspect guest apartments, public and external areas, plant, and equipment; manage defect reporting and rectification during the 12-month defect liability period.
- Maintain building licenses and certification documentation and manage operating supplies and asset inventories.
Service providers and operations
- Manage external service providers and outsourced-service procurement through tender specifications in consultation with the General Manager and Finance Manager.
- Manage relationships with planning authorities, government departments, and other external agencies.
- Direct the maintenance team, oversee staff rosters, and ensure facilities and property functions meet agreed standards.
- Prepare management reports and ensure maintenance and fault reporting systems respond to guest and staff issues.
Experience and technical knowledge
- Previous Chief Engineer management experience in a five-star hotel maintenance operations department is advantageous.
- Previous work experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Strong knowledge of hotel engineering operations, MEP systems, and preventive maintenance.
- Expertise in Fire, Life & Safety systems and Saudi Civil Defense regulations.
- Experience managing statutory compliance, government inspections, safety audits, and engineering projects.
Qualifications and skills
- Arabic-speaking ability is mandatory; fluency in Arabic and English is specified.
- Recognized trade qualification in either electrical or hydraulic disciplines.
- Current diver’s license and machine operator’s licence.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and work order software; OPERA is preferable.
- Strong leadership, planning, communication, problem-solving, organization, coordination, and attention to detail.
