Chief Engineer for a 71-meter, 1,500 GT yacht based in Dubai, UAE.
Manages the operation, maintenance, and safety of onboard machinery and technical systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including propulsion, generators, HVAC, refrigeration, and sanitation.
- Plan preventive maintenance, machinery overhauls, and shipyard technical work.
- Ensure compliance with marine safety, environmental, and technical standards.
- Manage engineering inventory, spare parts, and technical budgets.
- Lead the engineering crew and uphold technical and safety standards.
Requirements
- Appropriate Chief Engineer CoC Motor license for vessel tonnage and power output.
- 5+ years as Chief Engineer on large yachts of 60m+ or 1,000+ GT.
- Hands-on troubleshooting expertise with diesel propulsion, power generation, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Strong leadership and technical team management skills.
- Valid STCW safety certificates and Marine Medical Certificate (ENG1).
Compensation
- Pay is AED 8,000–10,000 per month.
