Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage financial reporting, month-end close, and statutory compliance in accordance with IFRS.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage the General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial transactions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent recognized certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of overall accounting and finance experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading or managing an accounting team.
- Experience in a medium to large organization is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Extensive experience with monthly financial closing processes.
- Strong understanding of General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion ERP.
- Experience in process improvement and automation of accounting functions.
- Experience working in a multinational or fast-paced business environment is an advantage.
