Role overview

Buying and assortment

• Manage the buying process from product selection and range building to purchase orders and on-time store delivery.
• Analyze market, competitor, and consumer trends in sports categories, price points, and brands.
• Build seasonal and in-season assortments aligned with category strategy, target consumers, store clusters, and financial plans.
• Negotiate prices, trading terms, payment conditions, rebates, and commercial agreements to maximize margin.
• Review sales, stock, and margin by category, brand, and SKU; identify rebuys, cancellations, risks, and range optimization opportunities.

Inventory and reporting

• Coordinate inventory with Merchandising and Allocation to match seasonal demand, promotions, and store capacity.
• Work with Logistics and Supply Chain to secure inbound flow, resolve delivery issues, and ensure complete, accurate supplier shipments.
• Gather store and merchandising feedback on product performance, customer preferences, and visual merchandising.
• Use SAP and Power BI to report on purchasing performance, supplier KPIs, and range effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with procurement policies, ethical standards, and documentation requirements.
• Support promotions, campaigns, and seasonal launches by aligning availability, pricing, and supplier support.

Competencies

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills; analytical ability to interpret sales, stock, and margin data.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP and Power BI, with strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
• Understanding of retail buying cycles, assortment planning, OTB, and inventory management.
• Organization, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business; a Supply Chain Management degree is preferred.
• Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Certification in Procurement.
• Six years of total experience, including four years in procurement and two years in retail buying.
• Experience in inventory management and sports retail.
• SAP ERP knowledge is required; proficiency in Power BI.

Pay

• AED 4,000–5,000 per month.
