Business Intelligence Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards and reports.
• Build ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
• Develop data warehouses and dimensional models; translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Analyse multiple data sources and apply data quality, governance, testing and documentation standards.
• Support self-service analytics through trusted datasets and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve reporting and analytics, and identify automation opportunities.

Requirements

• Experienced BI professional with strong technical and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models; strong SQL and Microsoft data platform experience.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and SQL Server; knowledge of data warehouses and dimensional modelling.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and understanding of data quality, governance and testing.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation and contract

• Salary is £33,400–£41,800 per annum.
• Full-time, permanent contract; 37 hours per week.

• Hybrid working; role location is Brindley Place, Birmingham.
