Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven, and hands-on **Business Development Manager (BDM)** to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth for Salonist.
This role combines **individual contributor responsibilities** with **team leadership responsibilities**.
The successful candidate will carry a personal revenue target while leading and mentoring a team of six Business Development Executives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced SaaS sales professional with strong consultative selling skills, proven team management experience, excellent reporting capabilities, and the ability to engage business owners, decision-makers, and enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities

- Revenue Generation & Individual Sales Target Achievement
- Own and achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound lead management, referrals, networking, and partnerships.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client pain points and business requirements.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations showcasing Salonist's capabilities.
- Present tailored solutions to salons, spas, beauty clinics, wellness centers, barbershops, and multi-location chains.
- Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from lead qualification through contract execution.
- Consistently exceed quota expectations and contribute significantly to overall company revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional Salonist modules and services.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and manage a team of **6 Business Development Executives (BDEs).**
Team Responsibilities
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly activity targets.
- Monitor outbound calls, demos, proposals, and conversion metrics.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Provide guidance on objection handling and negotiation strategies.
- Support team members during critical client presentations.
- Create individual development plans for team growth.
- Drive accountability and performance excellence across the team.
- Ensure adherence to sales processes and CRM discipline.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on results and customer success.
3. SaaS Consultative Selling
The Business Development Manager must possess strong understanding of SaaS-based business solutions and be capable of positioning Salonist's value proposition effectively.

- Monitor lead quality and conversion performance.
- Generate accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts.
- Identify bottlenecks affecting pipeline progression.
- Ensure all client interactions and activities are documented within CRM.
5. Reporting & Business Analytics
Prepare and present detailed reports to leadership.

- Identify new market opportunities.
- Develop strategic partnerships.
- Build relationships with industry associations and salon networks.
- Participate in exhibitions, trade shows, webinars, and networking events.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
- Contribute to sales strategy planning and execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, or related field.
Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management.
- Minimum 3 years of SaaS sales experience.
- Minimum 2 years of team management experience.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing a sales team of at least 5–10 members.
- Experience selling subscription-based software solutions.
