Plan International
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child.
But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination.
And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.
We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood.
And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity.
We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries
Role Purpose
Plan International works for girls’ rights.
Harmful barriers like child marriage, human trafficking and gender-based violence are preventing girls and young women from achieving their full potential.
Plan, along with government and private partners, fights against harmful gender norms and empowers young people to create positive change.
We have worked in communities for more than 80 years and implement locally-led programming through approximately 240 offices around the world.
Our technical sectors include education, youth economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health rights, empowerment of girls and young women, and emergency response.
We are fully committed to the safeguarding of all children and young people from all forms of violence.
Plan International has the ambitions to strengthen the United States Government (USG) funding portfolio in the Latin America & Caribbean region to help support our mission to advance girls’ rights.
