The Budgeting Officer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing the organization’s budget to ensure effective financial planning and cost control.
The role supports management by providing accurate financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
- Coordinate with department heads to gather and validate budget inputs
- Monitor budget utilization and track actual performance against planned figure
- Perform variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for deviations
- Support month-end and year-end closing with budget-related reporting
- Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations
- Assist in cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for savings
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations on financial performance
- Collaborate with audit teams during internal and external audits
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields
- 4–6 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or FP&A
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP) is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial models, pivot tables, dashboards)
- Familiarity with consolidation tools (e.g., FCCS) is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
