Job Purpose

The Bakery Commis is responsible for assisting with bread preparation under

close supervision, ensuring the quality of ingredients and the bread-making

process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure at the beginning of the shift that the required products for the
  • service station are available according to the established par level and
  • initiate orders for necessary items from the internal store.
  • Prepare quality bakery items according to outlined recipes, HACCP
  • standards, portion control practices, and presentation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely, accurate, and
  • presentable orders, and distribute prepared orders to various outlets.
  • Participate in the opening and closing duties of the pastry section,
  • ensuring compliance with established norms and internal procedures.
  • Prepare bakery delivery orders requested by external customers in a
  • timely manner, ensuring they are packaged according to set guidelines.
  • Ensure workstation sanitation throughout the shift by cleaning the fridge,
  • shelves, and counter, sharpening knives, and cleaning utensils at the end
  • of the shift.
  • Adhere to established rules and regulations for security, fire safety, and
  • general safety procedures, promptly reporting any incidents to the
  • hierarchy.
  • Check the shelf life of products, label each item with its production and
  • expiry date, monitor wasted product figures, and estimate needed
  • supplies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of product and food items to answer
  • any inquiries and offer insights when necessary.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
  • High school degree.
  • Zero to one years of experience in F&B Operations, including Pastry or Bakery
  • Operations, or a similar role.
