Baggage Coordinator (Part-Time)

The role

What you’ll do

• Identify and mitigate baggage operational issues with operations teams to balance performance and revenue.
• Identify groups of customers at risk of misconnecting and coordinate action to protect performance and revenue.
• Monitor arrivals, identify delays and short connections, and liaise with line areas to prioritize resources for aircraft turns.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify potential issues and develop practical solutions.

Experience and requirements

• Experience in baggage operations and system command-and-control processes is essential.
• Experience managing business-as-usual operations and disruption events, and working in a multi-user control-room environment.
• Experience with BA baggage operations at LHR or similar is desirable.
• Excellent IT literacy, communication and relationship-building skills; ability to work under pressure in a dynamic operational environment.
• Proactive and positive approach, taking ownership of issues through resolution; inquisitive approach to data and performance improvement.
• Strong understanding of airport systems and ability to hold an airside pass.
• Full UK manual driving licence valid for more than six months, with no more than three points or equivalent, to enable an airside driving permit.
• Willingness and ability to work shifts covering seven days a week, 365 days a year.
