Role overview

Operational duties

• Provide ATCOs with flight information and alerting services for IFR, VFR, and overflying flights under applicable rules and procedures.
• Review operational bulletins, technical and safety instructions, NOTAMs, and weather information before ATCA duties.
• Coordinate with ATS units and Airside Operations on service coordination, diversions, emergencies, and landing permissions.
• Maintain accurate ATC system flight information for secondary surveillance radar display.
• Coordinate flight-plan delays, cancellations, and refiling with Dubai AIS.
• Report incidents affecting aerodromes or air traffic services to the Watch Manager and Team Leader ATCA.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and systems in the Approach Control and Contingency Approach Control rooms and relevant manuals.
• Provide on-the-job training and staff assessments when qualified and directed; complete annual theoretical and practical competency examinations.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma-level education or equivalent.
• ICAO Level 4 or higher in written and spoken English.
• Computer literate.
• At least two years of experience in air traffic control, ATC assistance, briefing services, or another relevant aviation-related role.
• A good understanding of ATM systems is an advantage.
