The project and role

The opportunity is on a major Saudi Arabian programme involving mixed-use development, sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure.

Lead MEP technical excellence for commercial offices and translate project vision into investment-ready assets.

Provide design assurance, coordinate consultants, drive compliance and sustainability, optimize value, manage performance, and support approvals from concept through construction-ready delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP design, assurance, procurement, and technical coordination across systems and interfaces.
  • Review designs and consultant outputs for compliance with project requirements, strategy, briefs, and stage-gate approvals.
  • Coordinate project teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities; identify design risks and develop mitigations.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, codes, regulations, sustainability requirements, and smart-building guidelines.
  • Assess MEP submittals and manage reviews and reporting of design and engineering deliverables against milestones and earned value.
  • Act as technical liaison for MEP matters related to contracting, procurement, and requisitions.
  • Lead teams and manage delivery, quality, milestones, stakeholder engagement, budgets, risks, governance, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Provide strategic workload oversight, support business change, and communicate project performance to stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management, or a relevant field.
  • Master’s degree, relevant professional registration such as Chartered Engineer, and PMP registration are advantageous.
  • 10–15+ years of MEP management experience, including senior design leadership on large commercial office or mixed-use developments.
  • Experience leading design teams to deliver programme outcomes while balancing cost, time, and quality.
  • Expert knowledge of local and international design standards, codes, and regulations; KSA or Middle East experience is preferred.
  • Track record delivering BCO Grade A or investment-grade office towers or business parks from concept through handover.
  • Experience with design review, authority approvals, international consultant teams, and commercial office design best practice.
  • Strong stakeholder and executive presentation skills; excellent written and verbal English; enterprise-level digital design knowledge.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, workload prioritization, and ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Work arrangements

  • The posting identifies a site-based role.
  • Mace is open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable for the role.
