Role overview

Contract role in Ethara's Event Operations team in Abu Dhabi, coordinating overnight site activities during event build-up, live-event transitions, and dismantling.

Work closely with the Site or Build Manager to coordinate contractors, deliveries, and site activity and hand over work to the daytime team.

Overnight site operations

  • Serve as the overnight on-site operational contact and support approved site and build plans.
  • Monitor contractor attendance, work progress, productivity, schedules, drawings, method statements, and site rules.
  • Coordinate deliveries, vehicle movements, loading, unloading, plant access, materials, storage, and contractor access.
  • Inspect housekeeping, access routes, emergency exits, barriers, lighting, and safe working conditions.
  • Coordinate with security, HSE, venue, logistics, technical, production, and facilities teams.
  • Maintain progress, delay, incident, damage, variation, incomplete-work, and operational-constraint records.
  • Prepare shift reports, photographic updates, issue trackers, and snag lists.
  • Escalate urgent safety, schedule, access, technical, and contractor issues.
  • Monitor permits, risk assessments, method statements, PPE, and site safety compliance.
  • Control access to work areas and support emergency response, incident reporting, work stoppage, and evacuation procedures.
  • Hand over completed work, outstanding actions, risks, and priorities to the daytime team.
  • Provide operational direction to temporary site coordinators, marshals, runners, and contractor teams as needed.

Experience and qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in event site operations, venue operations, temporary infrastructure, construction coordination, logistics, or event production.
  • Overnight event build-up, dismantling, or site operations supervision experience is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, site activities, deliveries, and operational workstreams.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Event Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Logistics, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.

Required knowledge and skills

  • Understand event build operations, temporary structures, site logistics, and contractor coordination.
  • Read and interpret site plans, layouts, schedules, and technical drawings.
  • Know permits to work, risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, and site safety procedures.
  • Prepare shift reports, photographic records, progress trackers, snag lists, and incident documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; able to manage priorities under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiar with radio procedures and escalation protocols.

Advantageous certifications

  • Health and safety, first aid, fire safety, working at height, or incident management certifications are advantageous.

Work environment

  • Overnight site work in event-build environments may involve outdoor conditions, prolonged standing and walking, noise, and construction-related activity.
