Art Director - Contract

Role overview

Creative direction and delivery

• Lead creative direction for events, experiential projects, activations, and event marketing campaigns.
• Develop concepts, campaign identities, and key visuals; oversee static, digital, and video adaptations.
• Direct event branding, stage design, spatial graphics, and visual experiences through execution.
• Guide 2D, 3D, and motion design; maintain creative consistency and quality across visual touchpoints.
• Present concepts to stakeholders, balancing creative ambition with budget, timeline, and technical requirements.
• Oversee final outputs and on-site execution against the approved creative vision.

Team and project leadership

• Collaborate with marketing, production, technical, and project management teams.
• Lead and mentor Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and freelance creative resources; delegate tasks and manage workloads across projects.
• Review work, provide constructive feedback, and foster collaboration, creative thinking, and continuous improvement.

Experience and portfolio

• At least 7 years of relevant design experience, ideally across live events, experiential work, brand activations, or marketing campaigns.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating art direction, creative concepts, campaign key visuals, event branding, and experiential design.

Design skills and tools

• Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of static, digital, and video content production and experience guiding 2D, 3D, and motion design projects.
• After Effects and Premiere Pro knowledge is an advantage; AI-assisted creative tools and 3D/CAD familiarity are desirable.

Additional capabilities

• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, attention to detail, creative judgement, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and creative priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring creative teams is highly desirable.
