Job Purpose
Support the Financial Planning & Reporting department in delivering accurate, timely, and clearly presented financial information across the entity.
Working under the guidance of the Director, the Assistant Manager helps prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, compiles regular management and statutory reports, and carries out the analysis that turns financial data into useful insights.
The role plays an important part in keeping financial reporting accurate and compliant, supporting well-informed decisions, and helping the team run its planning and reporting cycles smoothly.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the preparation of annual and multi-year budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, making sure submissions follow the agreed guidance, timelines, and templates.
- Help monitor financial performance against budgets, flagging variances early and supporting the follow-up on corrective actions.
- Assist with financial modeling and scenario planning by preparing data inputs and supporting the analysis behind future financial outcomes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in compiling and presenting regular financial management reports, dashboards, and insights that give leadership a clear view of the entity’s financial position.
- Carry out financial analysis to support reporting, identifying trends, variances, and key metrics that translate into actionable insights.
- Support the accuracy and consistency of financial data across reports, following up to resolve any gaps or discrepancies.
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Aid in preparing annual statutory financial reports in line with applicable financial regulations and standards.
- Help ensure financial statements and disclosures are accurate and complete, working under the guidance of the Senior Manager.
- Keep up to date with changes in financial regulations and standards, and support the adjustments needed to keep reporting practices compliant.
Audit Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support smooth and timely financial audits.
- Prepare and provide the documentation and information auditors need throughout the audit process.
Process Improvement
- Look for opportunities to improve financial planning and reporting processes, including better use of templates, tools, and automation.
- Help put best practices into place to make reporting more efficient, accurate, and consistent.
