Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Position overview

Housekeeping operations

• Inspect cleaned guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas for quality.
• Run sold-room reports; verify room status, find discrepancies, prioritize cleaning, and update departing-room status.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and coordinate with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
• Document room discrepancies with the Front Desk; communicate room-assignment changes and hand over issues to the next shift.
• Complete required paperwork.

Staff, guest service, and safety

• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protect company assets, welcome guests, address service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, respond to employee concerns, and uphold quality expectations.
• Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• Preferred education: high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred related work experience: at least 1 year.
• Preferred supervisory experience: at least 1 year.
• No license or certification is specified.

Physical and work requirements

• Handle objects up to 55 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance; push and pull loaded carts over sloping or uneven surfaces.
• Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods and perform reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and fine-motor tasks.
• Use computers or point-of-sale systems and read and verify information in varied formats.
