Role overview

Loss prevention responsibilities

• Provide professional client service as needed.
• Use sales-floor and CCTV surveillance to identify, observe, deter, or apprehend external theft suspects.
• Follow applicable laws and company policies on apprehensions, search and seizure, and evidence preservation.
• Prepare reports on theft, merchandise recoveries, accidents, and audits.
• Build professional relationships with internal partners, law enforcement, mall security, and other retailers.
• Testify in court on the company's behalf when summoned.
• Train new hires and employees on store loss-prevention awareness.

Store operations

• Conduct self-audits, checklists, and safety inspections and communicate findings to store leadership and the District Loss Prevention Manager.
• Assist with inventory preparation and processes.
• Partner with stores and the District Loss Prevention Manager on shrinkage-prevention plans.
• Meet the required minimum weekly shifts or hours: 30–40 hours for full time or 16–20 hours for part time.

Qualifications

• At least one year of retail asset protection or loss-prevention experience.
• Meet and maintain licensing requirements where applicable.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to stay composed and coach others on loss-prevention techniques.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; availability to work at multiple market locations.
• Windows, Word, and Excel proficiency is desirable.

Physical requirements

• Work in a fragrance-filled environment.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend and stretch to stock shelves.

Compensation

• Compensation ranges from CAD $25.00 to CAD $30.00 per hour.
• Performance-based bonus opportunities may be available.
