Role overview
The Architect of Record manages architectural design submissions, approvals, and permits and serves as the liaison with government authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
The role ensures compliance with UAE regulations, codes, and approval processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage architectural design approvals and discussions, develop design solutions, coordinate consultants, and produce design documents.
- Lead projects from concept through design development and act as Architect of Record for assigned projects.
- Prepare and submit architectural designs and master plans to Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, and other relevant authorities.
- Prepare authority drawings, attend meetings and inspections, resolve authority comments, and coordinate face-to-face discussions as needed.
- Coordinate planning, engineering, and authority representatives and ensure designs comply with local regulations, planning guidelines, and building codes.
- Review architectural, technical, shop, consultant, and contractor drawings and documents; evaluate work inspection reports.
- Support teams through design development, authority reviews, and construction; coordinate consultant design activity for IFC release.
- Issue SORs for work without approvals or with incorrect workmanship and resolve project design issues.
- Coordinate with Sales and Marketing on digital presentations and maintain current knowledge of UAE approval procedures.
Mandatory requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the UAE.
- Valid Society of Engineers (SOE) Card – Dubai.
- Strong knowledge of Urban Planning Engineering requirements.
- Valid Dubai Municipality G+12 Architecture License.
- Trakhees Blue Card.
- Trakhees White Card.
