Responsibilities
- Review Arabic layouts at wireframe and design stages for line length, type size, line height, numerals, punctuation, and alignment.
- Make Arabic typography decisions with the design lead, including defining the Arabic type scale.
- Structure and edit Arabic content, headings, navigation labels, and calls to action.
- Maintain a written glossary to keep terminology consistent across the bilingual site.
- Run bilingual quality checks with QA by reading the Arabic content closely.
- Flag design elements that assume left-to-right reading, including icons, data displays, and motion.
Requirements
- Arabic as a first language and professional English are required.
- A right-to-left website the candidate worked on must have shipped.
- The candidate must be able to review layout and typography, not only text.
Additional strengths
- Arabic editorial or publishing background is a differentiator.
- Government or institutional Arabic content experience is a differentiator.
- Arabic typography experience, including choosing and pairing typefaces, is a differentiator.
