The Application Operations Analyst supports the stability, availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical applications and supporting infrastructure.
The role provides operational support across application, database, cloud, and platform environments and works with Development, Infrastructure, Network, and Business teams.
The role reports to the Leader, Interac Control Centre.
What you will do
- Support Java/JEE applications, APIs, microservices, containerized applications, and cloud-native platforms; monitor application health and alerts.
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, middleware, Linux, database, container, cloud, and network layers; triage incidents and investigate root causes.
- Support AWS, hybrid cloud, and on-premises workloads, including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and networking components.
- Troubleshoot Oracle and DB2 databases, write complex SQL queries and reports, and support tuning and optimization.
- Collaborate on production deployments and participate in releases and change management, including planning, implementation, validation, and review.
- Document incidents and operational procedures, maintain runbooks and monitoring platforms, manage recurring incidents, and drive automation and service improvements.
- Support projects, platform enhancements, technology upgrades, and other operational initiatives.
What you bring
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least two years of application support, production operations, site reliability engineering, or software development experience; Java-based experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Java/JEE applications, REST APIs, Linux, SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle and DB2.
- Hands-on SQL development, database troubleshooting, performance analysis, query tuning, and optimization experience.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, or comparable platforms.
- Working knowledge of AWS compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security services.
