Aircraft Technician - Base Maintenance

Role overview

Maintenance and operational duties

• Service and maintain aircraft, engines, and components, and perform approved structural repairs in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
• Observe safety procedures during fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling, and aircraft systems charging or servicing.
• Complete component replacements and other maintenance using the AMM, IPC, CMM, SRM, or other OEM-approved documentation.
• Support Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Approved/Licensed Technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications in accordance with job cards.
• Complete tasks promptly, prepare work using aircraft status, report defects quickly, and ensure accurate shift handovers.
• Contribute to team objectives and continuous improvement through collaboration.
• Assist with resource allocation using RMS/RTC applications and support departmental projects when required.

Safety and work areas

• Promote a strong safety culture, minimise risks, and report deficiencies.
• Keep work areas clean and organised and free of foreign object debris; regularly audit and maintain toolboxes, vehicles, and equipment.
• Comply with airport safety regulations, hold a valid Airport Driving Permit, and follow manoeuvring area requirements.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Vocational or diploma qualification (12+2 or equivalent).
• Graduate qualification (12+2) in engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent training with a reputable airline or approved aircraft maintenance organisation, or an Engineering Aircraft Maintenance License.
• Aircraft engineering environment experience, including at least two years of on-the-job training in an airline or approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
