An Air Freight Coordinator plays a pivotal role in logistics and shipping sectors by ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods through air transportation.

The Air Freight Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shipments, liaising with clients and airlines, and ensuring compliance with international air transport regulations.
They must possess excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including customers, customs brokers, and internal logistics personnel.
This role requires the ability to solve problems and the aptitude to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, as well as managing the preparation of shipping and customs documentation to facilitate smooth cargo transitions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling and routing of international air freight shipments efficiently.
- Communicate with clients to confirm delivery schedules and shipment details effectively.
- Work collaboratively with customs brokers to ensure accurate documentation compliance.
- Ensure all air freight shipments comply with international laws and regulations.
- Handle all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
- Monitor shipment status and provide clients with timely updates on their cargo.
- Negotiate and secure space with airlines for timely shipment of goods.
- Assist in resolving any issues that arise during the shipment process efficiently.
- Manage records of shipping routes, schedules, and freight charges accurately.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely loading and unloading of shipments.
- Evaluate and recommend transportation solutions to improve logistical efficiencies.
- Maintain thorough records of all shipments for auditing and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the air freight or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of international air shipping regulations and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments concurrently.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with clients and logistics partners.
- Proficiency in using logistics and shipment management software applications.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
