Key responsibilities
- Conduct safety checks before starting work at client sites.
- Clean, lubricate, and test the over speed governor.
- Check static balance, correct counterweight overbalance, and adjust final limits under guidance.
- Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism according to defined procedures.
- Install door skates and set door locks; inspect landings, bolts, and fasteners in inspection mode.
- Check the car-top route through the shaft for interference among moving equipment, cabin, and counterweight.
- Check electrical operation, including car doors, buttons, and intercoms.
- Report site concerns, process infractions, and safety issues to the supervisor; complete NCRs.
- Set controller contact parameters and place lifts into normal operation.
- Adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality to Otis manual standards.
- Inspect and clean motor pits and escalator steps; test escalators for obstructions that could damage steps or handrails.
- Prepare installation inspection, field-test data, safety-check, and Otis safety-audit reports.
