Responsibilities
- Conduct safety checks at client sites before starting work.
- Clean, lubricate, and test the over speed governor; check unit balance and final limits under guidance.
- Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism according to defined procedures.
- Install door skates and set door locks under guidance; check fasteners at each landing.
- Inspect the shaft while travelling the car top for interference between moving equipment.
- Check electrical operation, including car doors, buttons, and intercoms.
- Escalate concerns, process infractions, and safety issues to the Supervisor and complete NCRs.
- Set controller contact parameters and return lifts to normal operation; adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality to Otis standards.
- Inspect and clean motor pits and escalator steps as needed; test escalators through a complete travel cycle for obstructions.
- Prepare installation inspection, field test data, safety check, and Otis safety audit reports.
Work setting
- Work includes job-site and client-site equipment checks and field tasks.
Requirements
- Perform adjustment work under the guidance of a Senior Adjuster or Adjuster where specified.
- Follow defined procedures and safety guidelines when inspecting, adjusting, and testing equipment.
