Role purpose
Oversee daily workshop operations, supervise technicians and mechanics, ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair jobs, and maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Reports to the Workshop Manager or Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily workshop activities and assign jobs to mechanics, technicians, and other staff.
- Monitor repair and maintenance work for quality and timely completion; ensure vehicles, machinery, and equipment meet company standards.
- Diagnose technical issues and assist technicians with complex problems; monitor productivity, staff performance, and job progress.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment, cleanliness, organization, and safety; ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety procedures.
- Prepare work reports, maintenance records, and job completion reports.
- Coordinate with spare parts and procurement teams, ensure materials are available, and minimize unnecessary parts wastage.
- Handle operational issues, report major concerns to management, and train and motivate workshop employees.
Qualifications and requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least three years of proven experience as a Workshop Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance, repair procedures, workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Experience supervising workshop technicians and mechanics; ability to diagnose problems and provide solutions.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Leadership, team management, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, work independently, and work under pressure.
- MS Office and workshop management systems proficiency is an advantage.

- Preferred skills include decision-making, organization, time management, hands-on troubleshooting, motivating and developing staff, and commitment to quality and safety.
Performance measures
Performance measures include timely job completion, repair quality, productivity, reduced downtime and repair costs, effective use of staff and resources, safety compliance, and customer and internal department satisfaction.

Compensation and employment
- Pay is AED 4,000–7,000 per month.
- Employment type is full-time.
