Role overview
The Welding QC Inspector will support pipeline welding procedure qualification activities.
The role ensures welding procedures and qualifications comply with project specifications, international codes, and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Witness and monitor welding procedure qualification and welder qualification tests.
- Review, verify, and document WPS and PQR against project requirements.
- Inspect welds and monitor preheating, inter-pass temperatures, and post-weld heat treatments.
- Coordinate non-destructive and destructive testing with third-party laboratories.
- Maintain inspection records, daily reports, and quality documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least five years of related experience and a proven record as a Welding QC Inspector on pipeline projects.
- Expertise in pipeline welding procedure qualifications and applicable pipeline codes.
- Certified Welding Inspector credential, such as AWS-CWI, CSWIP 3.1/3.2, or equivalent.
- Strong documentation skills for reviewing and approving PQRs and WPSs.
